Non-Profit 101 Workshop

Starting a nonprofit organization can be a powerful way to create lasting impact in your community—but it requires careful planning and a clear understanding of the responsibilities involved. This introductory training will walk participants through the fundamentals of starting and operating a nonprofit organization, including the key differences between nonprofit and for-profit businesses, obtaining Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, incorporating an organization, and establishing an effective board of directors. Attendees will also learn the basics of fundraising, grant and sponsorship funding, required policies and procedures, and ongoing reporting requirements.
